After scheduling a first appointment, clients will receive paperwork to complete online. Clients can expect a history to be taken at their first visit. Michele and the client will also discuss presenting issues and then mutually determine treatment goals. Each session is usually a mix of narrative and experiential therapies. The progression of therapy consists of an exploration of family of origin, belief system, internal and external support, relevant relationships, attachment style, traumas, and medical history. Duration of treatment (number of sessions needed) is dependent on the presenting issue, diagnosis, and treatment plan. I earned a B.S. in Psychology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. After working as an Applied Behavioral Analyst with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, I stayed at home for 19 years caring for my five children. In 2014, I returned to graduate school, earning a Masters of Education in Counseling in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Montevallo.
